There are no dangerous thoutghts;
thinking itself is dangerous.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able
to entertain a thought without accepting it.

The only way to deal with an unfree world is
to become so absolutely free
that your very existance
is an act of rebellion.

One can not start by saying
our earthly destiny has or has not importance
for it depends on us to give it importance.

Everything that I accepted
as being true up to now I acquired from the senses.
However, I have occassionally found
that they deceive me, and it is prudent never to trust
those who have deceived us, even if only once.

The goal to be reached is the mind's insight
into what knowing is.
Impatience asks for the impossible,
wants to reach the goal
without the means of getting there.

The surest way to corrupt a youth
is to instruct him to hold in higher steem
those who think alike than those who think differently.

Man is condemned to be free;
because once thrown into the world,
he is responsible for everything he does.

A man can do as he wills,
but he can not will as he wills.

Ask for me.
All I know is that I know nothing.

Philosophy is a critical disposition
of wrestling with desire in the face of death,
dialogue in the face of dogmatism,
and democracy in the face of domination.

At the core of all well-founded belief
lies belief that is unfounded.

Love means that you accept a person
with all their failures, stupidities,
ugly points, and nonetheless,
you see perfection in imperfection itself.
